    I live in Gouig in the parish of Castleconnell.

    Irish but some of them can tell stories.
    During the famine times, the houses in Gouig were more plentiful than at present. The ruins of these houses are not to be seen now. Many of the people emigrated to America and other places. The land of Gouig is hilly and boggy. There are no woods, rivers or streams in Gouig. Gouig is not mentioned in any song.
