  1. Story: During the Penal Times a man and his wife were shot near my home. While the people were at Mass, fifteen soldiers came and shot them. A message was sent to the people at the church who immediately left the church. When the priest turned round for the Gospel, the church was empty.
    They got every kind of weapon and killed all the soldiers. Some were buried in fields and three were buried in a place called Poulaphouca. It is said to be haunted.
    Mass Rock: There is a Mass Rock in an island on the Shannon, near Castleconnell.
