  1. There is a belief that a certain man dug up amount of Treasure around Abbington Grave-yard. A few miles from this village, there was an old Monastery there, which was occupied by a very large community of Monks. It is believed they were of the Cistercian order, well those Monks were landlords of what is known as the seven Ploughlands which is some of the finest lands in that side of the Country. The Monks were said to be very rich , and to possess a huge amount of valuables within the walls of their ancient abbey.
