  1. The schoolhouse in Knocknacorriga was a Protestant one, built by Erasmus Smith who was a Landlord, around this place. The teachers were mostly strangers to this district, and they had strange names, such as, Raburn, Ellis, Kanny, Athelstan, and Whitaker.
    After some years, Timothy Collins who was a Catholic, taught school there to most of the Catholic children who were there at the time.
    It was closed down some years ago, and sold to the late David Humphreys of Cappamore, and is now in possession of his son Henry, who lets it to tenants.
