  1. At one time, there was a war between Ulster and Connacht because Maeve wanted to get a bull belonging to Daire, a farmer in Cooley, and he refused to give it to her. There was no one ready in Ulster, but Cuchulainn. At that time, battles were decided by single fights between great Champions.
    Cuchulainn' greatest fight was with Ferdiad, who had been his friend, whose life he once had saved. Ferdiad did not want to fight his old friend, but Queen Maeve urged him to do so. Even in the fight, they could not forget they were friends. They used fight all day and at night Ferdiad used send food across to Cuchulainn and Cuchulainn used send doctors
