- (continued from previous page)mice ran out from under it, and suddenly St. Patrick flung his hat after them, and immediately the hat turned out to be a cat, and started to kill the rats and mice.
- It is said that when Our Lord was crowned with thorns a robin came and pulled a thorn out of his head to carry to her nest, so as to build it. As she was taking the thorn a drop of the sacred blood tipped her breast and ever afterwards a robin had a red breast. That is why the robin is liked so well.
