  1. Father John Shelly was born at Killenaule, Co. Tipperary about the year 1820. He came to Cappamore as P.P. about 57 years ago. Before that he was curate in Tipperary town and while there the following incident occurred. He had a sister a nun who was buried in a plot near the convent. The landlord wanted to have her remains raised. He gave the Rev Mother until noon next day to have the remains removed. If this order was not complied with then the soldiers were to remove the coffin.
