  1. About 90 years ago two boys Maddens were training a young horse, one held him while the other went to close a gate.
    He ran and crushed one of the brothers against a tree killing him outright.
    Denis Ryan Dromalty, a good hurler got a tip of a hurley on the nose when he was hurting a match at the Markets field Limerick.
    After a few days he got very ill and died a terrible death from tetanus poisoning.
