  1. A man named Billy Ryan who lived in Tineteriffe was a great walker.
Every Saturday he started off for Limerick with a twenty stone coarse bag. In this he brought any message the neighbours wanted and arrived home before dark.
The distance walked was 13 miles to & from.
John Ryan Dine used to walk to Rathkeale & back again in one day when he went there to fairs. The distance was about 23 miles.
He was also able to dig a quarter of bane in two days. He was a very poor man and reared twelve children on five acres of poor land. Although he worked hard he lived until he reached the age of 96 & died this year 1938.
In Cappamore was a man named Fly Berkery who could jump over three horses standing side by side.
