    Even up to this day a man is supposed to walk out this passage at about eleven o'clock. His boots creak and he continues on until he reaches the Mulcair bank where he disappears.

  2. To make a farm large enough for a Protestant man named Lloyd three families were evicted from farms in Pallasbeg (about 120 years ago)
    1. Maddens who lived where Lanes live now. They all went to Australia.
    2. Sheehans were evicted out of another farm and left the district. Their farm was near the quarry in Lanes.
    3. Tom Hayes (Fad) had a field of 3.5 acres and was evicted.
    On the opposite side of the road Kirbys were evicted and Burns who lived on Tineteriffe road were evicted. All are supposed to have taken the emigrant ship. The gate going in to Mr O'Malley's paddock is still called Burns' Gate.
