There is a hill surrounding the Lake of Lough Guir called Mount Finell at the foot of which three stones form a kind of seat. This is called "Aine's Seat" because once upon a time a beautiful maiden with long flowing gold hair, rose from the lake Daily and sat on the stool combing her hair. One day a nearby shepherd saw her do so and on her entering the lake maidens, forgot her comb and that the girl was always haunting him. The priest told him to throw it into the lake. He did so and recovered soon after.
