    Rev Michael Loughnane
Facing to the west in the eastern side of the Cemetery on a tombstone is an inscription of raised capitals which records the death of the Rev Michael Loughnane who departed from this life on 17th April 1773; aged 38 years.
Father Loughnane who was native of lough Gur according to the people of his day jumped over the broad pond at the western side of the road of Raleighstown and hence that pond was known henceforth as "leim an t-Sagairt" or "The Priest's Leap".
