Béal Beag was a cnocán between Carrigeen + Knocknagalty.

Béal Beag was a cnocán between Carrigeen and Knocknagalty. It was full of beaten paths and several people were led astray there. People had to pass it on their way to the turbary.
Kingston started to build a house up above Béal Beag at Blackrock but gave it up. He was thought to be mad at the time as he died in an asylum after.
I am told that no one was led astray there since.
There was a wood near the place hundreds of years before, and hence a lot of bog deal was to be had in the olden times. The people made candles of it
Tailors and shoemakers went around to the houses making clothes and boots
The tailors never cut any material on Monday. They were supported and paid in the houses
