  1. I heard this story of the Penal times. About 300 years ago the time of the Priest-Hunters there lived a great monk in the abbey of St. Richard his name was Father Adrian. The suppression of the monasteries occurred at this time. Father Adrian was forced to travel in disguise from house to house and from county to county all over Ireland, and to celebrate mass when and where he could in cabins or in caves. The priest hunters were forever after him and for a long time he escaped capture. He was of a highly strung nature and by his own admission
