- In the townland of Knocklong there is a moat called Raheen moat. In olden times people dug for gold and were supposed to find some. One day when they found the gold torrents of rain fell and they had to run for shelter. When they came back the gold was gone. They never dug for it after and where they dug, it never grew green again.
