  1. One night the priest of Ballyhea had to go on a sick call.
    He took his servant boy with him and as it was a long journey they went on horseback.
    When they arrived at the house and the priest having done his duty the people at the house would not let him go home so the boy had to go alone.
    As he was crossing a river on his way home he saw on the opposite bank a woman dressed in white and she said that if she could get to him she would kill him.
    So he had to stay in the water till the cock crew and the ghost went away.
    When he returned home he got very sick and had to stay in bed for a long time.
    When he was well again he went to the priest and told him what happened and the exact place he had seen the woman.
