   I have just heard this plant called the Bolar Glugair, which I think can not be other than Biolar Glugair.
   Biolar gorm = common knapweed, known generally here as "Black heads", and in Tiob. Ar. as "Black buttons".

   There is no doubt about it but the music was heard in the fort (Crehan's Fort, Rathcannon, Limerick). 'Twas heard over and over again, strange music that when you'd hear it, they say, you wouldn't know best whether to cry or to laugh. Twould be heard when you wouldn't be listening for it, and then when you'd stop to hear it right tis how 'twould go off faint, like the sound of a fiddle fading on the end of a slow tune, and you far away from it of a summer's evening. Poor women from Bruff heard it over and over again, there is some of them alive yet that heard it and they can tell you about it better than me. I'll tell you more about and 'tis true. The woman who owns (?-ed) the land the fort is on used to keep cows. One morning when she went out, one of her best cows was dead beside the fort. It was a terrible loss to the poor woman, and what you mightn't know is, tis a sign of bad luck for such a thing to hap-
