    (This was given to me by Mce Devaney, whose father's name was mentioned. Kilcurley is a townland adjoining Kildonnel. Adare - on this occasion, Drehidtarsna in that parish - was a night stop' to the fair, that is a sort of half-way house, where both men and beast were kept by a friend against the fair in the morning at the neighbouring town of Rathkeale. Mr. Marshall not only composed, but sang his song at the dances. I have no doubt that some of his songs were composed for the dances. D.O'C.)
