  3. A Rhyme from the Famine Days.
    "Man or woman as you pass by,
    Take a turnip if you are dry,
    Take one, take two,
    But if you take three, I'll take you"
    The above is supposed to be a notice, set up in turnip gardens, warning famine stricken wretches against taking more than two turnips.
