  1. Kilnockan Fort
    Kilnockan Fort is situated in the parish of Adare, one mile to the east of Shountrade school. It is situated in the land of the Griffin family.
    It is a large stone fort about thirty five yards in diameter. There is a souterrain about 20 feet long and 4 feet wide running down the centre.
    Outside the stone there are the remains of six or eight out-buildings. Some are square and more rectangular. According to tradition there was an early
