  1. Another story of the Sean Beann.
    The Sean Beann is situated in the town-land of Rour. About one mile to the west of the village of Adare. It is the name given to the ruins of an old castle, the date of the erection of which is unknown. According to tradition Mass was often celebrated there in the Penal days.
    About twelve years ago Michael Normoyle of Rour, Adare was passing the Sean Beann about 5am one Christmas on his way to six o'clock Mass in Adare. He heard a Chruch bell ringing in the ruins. He was afraid to pass so he hid behind a bush. Next he heard beautiful singing, a little later he left his hiding place, determined to go to Mass. As he was passing the
