  1. Knockfierna, the hill of the Fairies
Knockfierna Hill is situated about five miles to the south of Shauntrade school, two miles from Ballingarry, and fI've miles from Rathkeale. The word Knockfierna means the hill of truth. Many fairy stories have been told about Knockfierna Hill. During the summer people thought they saw fairies. The King of the Munster Fairies is said to have been buried at the foot of Knockfierna.
At one time the Fairies were very busy around the locality of Knockfierna. The leader was a very big fairy called Down Fierna.
