  1. Executed in Adare in 1821.
    Two men were executed in the fair green of Adare in the year 1821. Their names were Coll and Shea. They worked in the residence of Mr. Corneille of Rour Adare. They were step brothers. There was also a farmer in the neighbourhood named Mr. Sparling.
    One of these brothers stole a gun from Sparling. One day Sparling was going to the bog for turf. He gave some children a drive to Lisnamuck school, and he beat and illtreated them. Coll was in the car and he beat Sparling. Sparling swore information against them.
