  1. (continued from previous page)
All praise to Thee my God this night for all the blessing of the Light
Take me oh take me King of Kings
    Beneath Thine own Almighty wings
Forgive me Lord for Thy dear Son
The ill that this day have done
That with the world myself and Thee
Ere I sleep at peace may be
If in the night I sleepless be
My mind with Heavenly thoughts supply
Let no ill dreams disturb my rest nor powers of darkness me molest.
Those prayers were mostly in use about 1820. The most of them came from Co Clare. It is unknown who wrote them.
Transcribed by a member of our volunteer transcription project.
