    River Maigue.
    Flow gently dear Mague by thy green sedgy breas,
    By the spot where I've spent happy hours happy days.
    By the murmuring stream I oft strayed long ago.
    Where the hawthorns bloom and the wild sallies grow.
    The wild duck and curlew and plover all roam.
    To they sedgy banks where they make a wild home.
    By thy banks, rippling Mague Gerald Griffin did stray.
    When he sang thy sweet murmuring bring lay.
