    Askeaton Co. Limerick. It blew first from the south and finished blowing from the north west.
    (3) In 1918 there was a big frost. It was very cold. It lasted for six weeks. All the birds were killed. Some people fed them and carried them into their houses. It snowed down on it.

  2. There was a great storm in the year 1873. It was a very dangerous one. It blew roofs off houses, and hay had been carried away with it. It lasted for a day.
    The old people are always talking about it. They call it the storm of '73. It was both dangerous on land and on sea. What ships were on the sea were nearly lost.
