    The huntsman's horn attracted me, and I heard the hounds a howling
    I then got up on the rise of ground as you may see to look around
    And just in a minute who should bound, but Reynard out beside me.

    He ran from Stewick to Incherourke, the day was wild and murky
    And to clear his throat and give him breath, he darted a fine fat turkey
    With such a meal he could swim the Deel, but somehow his courage failed
    He broke out at the four-cross roads and down to Doyles he sailed.
