The flat field of Cussen's is owned by Mr. Edward Cussen, Abbey Lodge. "The part of the river that flows through Hunt's land" - is owned by Mr. R. Hunt and extends from the Bridge for about ¾ mile up the river, and is noted for its fishing.
    "The Sweet River Deel"
    From a place called Askeaton
    So charming to see.
    Come greetings from home
    Fond greetings to me
    How kind are those words
    Wishing comfort and weal
    That come from my home
    By the Sweet River Deel.
