  1. In the name of Our Lord, Jesus Christ, crucified. I lay myself down to rest, bless me O'Lord after this short and miserable pilgrimage, bring me to life everlasting, Amen. I must die but I don't know when, where, nor how. all I know that if I died in mortal sin I am lost for ever. O' Jesus have mercy on me, may the Lord save me from a sudden and unprovided death, that I may never die in sin.
