- (continued from previous page)Thursdays, Bacon was the meat always used except during the twelve days of Christmas. The people had beef for this feast. They honoured the twelve days of Christmas and managed to have special food for it. When the twelve days were over they were as poor as ever again.
- The people long ago used to have three meals every day. The breakfast, dinner, and supper. They had potatoes and thick milk for the breakfast, small turnips and potatoes for the dinner. Gruel was eaten for the supper. It was made from coarse yellow(continues on next page)
