  1. There is a holy well about two or three miles east of the Parish called St. Patrick's Well. This well got its name when St. Patrick was going to Bruree from Ardagh. People pay rounds at it, particularly on St. Patrick's Day. It is a custom, when anybody passes by the well, to go in and take a drink of the water and say a few prayers. Last year during the Pilgrimage there was a fish seen in the well.
