- (continued from previous page)of a mixture of 4 cwts superphosphate 1 cwts sulphate of Anmonia and 1 cwt muriate of potash. Wooden plough's are not used now but they were used long ago. We plant medium size seed seed and cut the large potatoes in two sets, a few days before planting. We spray the potatoes about the middle of June, with a spraying machine. We plough out the potatoes two weeks after the stocks have withered. We pit them about 3 1/2 feet wide.
- An acre and a half is the usual acrage we cover with the potatoes. The servants prepare the ground for the sowing of the potatoes. The ground is always manured before(continues on next page)
