  1. There is a fort in Knockfierna about two miles outside the village of Ballingarry. Long ago a race of people came to conquer Ireland known as the Thuata De Danann. After a while the Melesians came to drive out the De Dananns. They defeated them and the De Denanns disappeared into hills and valleys and it is thought that they became fairies. Stories them began to be told about the places where they dwelled in. A story is told about
