  1. Mary Long who lived in Cahirhennessey about a half mile from Ballingarry was a great singer. Some of her famous songs were, "Sliabh na mban," "Pat OHara", and "Carrick Dhoun". She is dead about thirty years now.
    James Cuthbert was a great singer in days gone by. He lived in Kilbeg about 2 1/2 miles from Ballingarry. His favourite songs were, "Where the river Shannon flows," The Wearing of the Green" and "Killarney". He is still alive and is about 60 years.
    James Hickey who lived two miles from Ballingarry had the "worlds record" for singing he
