    with raddle and the hair is cut on the hip with a scissors. When the bargain is going on between the buyer and seller some person nearby asks them to split the difference. If the buyer is going to advance in the price he tells the other to show his hand. He names the price that he going to give and hits the other man on the palm of the hand. The buyer now goes away if the seller does not agree but he might come back later on again and offer a little more for the animal.
    The weavers of Ballingarry used to go the fairs selling flannel at 1/6 a "bandle." The length of the bandle was three feet.
    At Rathkeale fairs also there are "standings" where they sell harness, ropes, second hand clothes. traces and other things. Scallops, tubs and pecks are also sold in the street
