- Many years ago in this part of the country lived a big gentleman with his wife and son. He owned a large tract of land fully stocked. There was a beautiful mansion of a house also. He had a butler maids and all other servants. He lived very happily and everybody liked the "master" as he was called locally. He adored his baby boy and thought nothing too expensive to delight the little child. But all this happiness came to a sudden end. His wife a very good and kind woman took suddenly ill and in spite of all the best medical care and skill died within a few days.
The good man was heartbroken after this terrible blow and he was not the same man for a long time after. Even the little child missed his mother's love and became cross, and continued so until after a year or so his father again married. The little boy took a great liking to his step-mother and she to him. Things went on well in this way for a great number of years. The(continues on next page)- Collector
