  1. It is said, that if you sit on grass, or pull anything green on May Eve, that the fairies would carry you that night. The people bless the animals and out-houses with holy-water on that day. A man was driving a motor-car from Milford to Dromcollogher about eight-o-clock on May Eve. He saw a hare lying in the middle of the road. He tried to kill the hare with the car, but when he struck it, the car was turned up side down, but the man was not injured.
