  1. In Penal days there was a mass rock in Strand about ten miles from here. It was in a lonely dark glen. The priests name and the chalice is on the rock. The priest was shot in Kerry by the English. The priest was going up to the top of St Brendans hill in Kerry and they ambushed him. Ever since the rock is called Clais an [?].
