  1. Maurice Aherne was one of the best singers of Munster. He was trained by his brother Thomas. He sand in the Dublin show and got first prize. He also sang in Limerick in the year 1899. He sang in many other places which I cannot tell. He was a school-teacher in Ennis. He was born in this parish, and ended up his life in Ennis. He was shot in 1920.
