  1. About the year 1860 there lived in this locality two famous men. One was Patrick OBrien of Kells, Drumcollogher, who jumped four feet high with a half cwt. weight in each hand. The others was Denis OLeary of Castleishon, who fought two stallions at the Fair of Cahirmee.
    This man was also attached by his own bull. He seized the bull, by the horn, with one hand and cut its throat with a pen knife which he held in the other hand
