    The old inhabitants composed as lot of cures, for example, for a toothache to use some pepper and stay near a fire while using it, another good cure for the teeth is to smoke a pipe and to inhale the smoke. Hemlock is also a good cure for the bones, it is usually got in the ruins of a house, or in a ditch, it has to be applied to the bones frequently. Marshmallows are a very good cure for boils. This is a small herb about seven inches in height, a blue flower comes on its top, it has to be boiled before being applied to the boils.
    In this district we are also told that water-lilies are a good cure for yellow-jaun-dice.
