  1. The people who lived long ago had many cures and old sayings about diseases, and often some of them proved successful.
    A cure for warts is, if you found an unknown stream in the hollow of a rock to wash them in the water and they disappear gradually.
    Boils may be cured by burying a piece of bacon in manure, and while the meat is decaying the boils will be going away.
    The old people cured tooth-aches by smoking a pipe or piercing the teeth with pepper.
