'Twas a journey to Limerick by train.
Having business to do in the city.
I set out one morning at eight.
And walked to the station quite briskly.
Lest I for the train should be late.
In the latter I sat near a farmer of the time.

he seemed quite engrossed in his paper.
And his hat on the seat near him lay.
A woman with two heavy baskets.
and I said that they eggs did contain.
Rushed in to us at the next station.
Saying I was nearly late for the train.
