- Gleann na Capall is a very picturesque spot. It is situated about two miles from Broadford, Co. Limerick of which parish it is a part. The ruins of Killough-holehane Church whose walls are in a good state of preservation stand between. There is an old legend connected with Gleann na Capall from which it got its name. Long ago a woman was saving hay near the said Church of Killough-holehane. The day was very warm and feeling thirsty, she went into the Church and drank the wine from the Chalice. In punishment for her sacrilege she was changed into a white horse and plough and condemned to plough up and down the steep sides of Gleann na Capall cliffs until she had ploughed out a roadway. Having ploughed out a roadway she disappeared into a cliff and was never seen again. Gleann na Capall the glen of the horse
