  1. There was once a family in Athea unable to make their butter. There was a witch living near them and they were advised to send for her, so they did. When she came she told the boss of the house to put down a pot of meat and cabbage. Before it was boiled she ordered everyone in the house to bed only the bass. When the meat and cabbage were boiled she took it up and gave it to him in a big dish. Then she told him to hold it out over the half door, it was carried out of the plate. Then he told her how it was carried.
