  1. Long ago all the people of the district had to pay rent to the Landlords. The most of the Landlords lived in England but they had agents going around collecting the rents. The agents were twice as cruel as the Landlord himself. Those agents used to raise the rent if the tenant improved his house or land without the landlord knowing it. When he would be paying the landlord he would keep the extra rent for himself.
