    Local Cures.
    We have some old cures still in our midst, and the following are some of them.
    It is said that if a friend of a person suffering from whooping cough, met a man with a grey mare, and asked that man if he knew of any cure for whooping cough, and whatever answer he should give him. Whether it should be, milk, water, wine or anything, it would cure the cough. Asses' milk is said to cure whooping cough also.
    A frog placed in the mouth of a person suffering form a toothache, is said to cure it.
    Slanlus, a herb was picked in the time of Our Lord, and was put to a cut, which it cured, and from that time it is looked on as a cure for cuts.
