    Old Prayers.
Discover to me O'My God, the nothingness of this world. The greatness of Heaven. The shortness of time, and the length of eternity.
Here I lay down my head to sleep. If I die before I awake to God, I give my soul to take.
If an evil come my way, O'Blessed Saviour come and save me.
There are four corners round my bed. There are four Angels at my head, St. Mathew, Mark, St. Luke and St. John. God bless the bed that I lay on.
I will arise from the bed of sleep to adore my God and to labour for the salvation of my soul.
O may I rise again on the last day to life everlasting.

    Told by my mother.

I will arise form this bed of sleep to adore my God, and to labour for the salvation of my Soul. O May I arise on the last day to life everlasting.
