    Poets
There is no poet in my district at the present time, but there was one there long ago. His name was Tom Guerin, and he lived in a small thatched house. About one mile from my home. He composed songs and he also wrote prose and the following is one of his songs.
Come all ye jolly sports men,and listen to my song.
Concerning a great sports man, his fame was renown.
His name it was Massey, from near Ardagh town.
Massy and his comrades went hunting a hare.
They rose in Ballyloughane I declare -
On a break of furze bushes in Dooley's big fort.
And from that day to this, there was never such sport.
