  1. My grand aunt Leslie Ambrose, who was a school teacher in Ballyloughane saw a greyhound at the bridge convenient to the Dunganville Fort, and it is supposed that this hound was guarding the hidden treasure in the Fort.
    My father told me another story. When two men were going to Rathkeale fair they saw a ship floating on top of Dunganville fort, but when they arrived there the ship had disappeared and they were chased by an enormous bull.
